Aims and scope

Immuno-Gastroenterology covers important immunological aspects of both Clinical and Experimental Gastrointestinal tract and Hepatobiliary system disorders.

By offering its readers an insight into the current advances in the immunological aspects of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Immuno-Gastroenterology aims to become an essential and indispensable tool for medical libraries and electronic databases all over the world.

The Journal welcomes worldwide contributions by gastroenterologists, hepatologists, clinical and laboratory immunologists, rheumatologists, microbiologists, molecular biologists, pathologists, medical oncologists, and neurologists (involved in the brain-gut axis/neurodegenerative disorders), who are scientifically prominent and can report on cutting-edge topics of the relevant mainly immune system fields.

The sections covered by Immuno-Gastroenterology include:

1. Hepatobiliary diseases (autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cirrhosis/primary sclerosing cholangitis and overlap syndromes, alcoholic and non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases, viral hepatitis, drug-induced liver disease)
2. Liver regeneration and transplantation
3. Stem cells in Gastrointestinal, Pancreatic and Liver diseases
4. Hepatobiliary cancer immunology
5. Gastrointestinal and Pancreatic cancer immunology
6. Inflammatory bowel diseases immunology
7. Autoimmune pancreatic diseases
8. Gut immune system (includes innate and adaptive immune system, hormones, intestinal epithelial immune barrier, homeostasis, microbiota, commensal bacteria, etc.)
9. Helicobacter pylori
10. Brain-gut axis/neurodegenerative immune mechanisms/disorders
11. Nutritional immunology, immunological tolerance and autoimmunity, autophagy in the adaptive immune response, immunosenescence

Immuno-Gastroenterology (IG) utilizes Editorial Manager, world leading online peer-review system. Through the online system, author files are automatically converted to PDFs, submissions are acknowledged by email, and authors can track their manuscript through the stages of the peer-review process.
